Pakora

Pakora, a beloved Indian snack, is a crispy, deep-fried treat made by dipping vegetables, paneer, or meat into a spiced chickpea flour (besan) batter and frying until golden brown. Known for its crunchy texture and bold flavours, pakoras are a popular street food and a go-to snack during monsoons or festive occasions.

A variety of ingredients can be used to make pakoras, including onions, potatoes, spinach, and even cauliflower. Each type offers its own unique flavour and texture, making pakoras a versatile snack. Often served with tangy chutneys, like mint or tamarind, pakoras provide a perfect balance of spice and crunch.

Pakoras are enjoyed across India with a hot cup of chai, making them a staple for teatime. Their simple yet flavorful preparation makes them a favourite comfort food, providing warmth and satisfaction in every bite, especially during rainy or cold days.
