Jaggery

Jaggery, known as Gur in Hindi, is a traditional unrefined sugar widely used in Indian cuisine and other cultures around the world. Made from the sap of sugarcane or palm trees, jaggery is cherished for its deep, caramel-like flavour and rich nutritional profile. It is often available in solid blocks or granulated form, making it a versatile sweetener.

Unlike refined sugars, jaggery retains essential minerals such as iron, calcium, and magnesium, making it a healthier alternative. It is commonly used in a variety of dishes, from desserts like gulab jamun and kheer to savoury preparations like chutneys and curries.
