Kofta

Kofta is a popular Indian dish made from ground or minced ingredients, typically formed into balls or patties and cooked in rich, flavorful gravies. These delightful morsels can be made from a variety of ingredients, including minced meat, lentils, or vegetables, often combined with spices, herbs, and sometimes cheese to enhance flavour and texture.

In vegetarian versions, paneer or mixed vegetables are common choices, while meat koftas may feature lamb, chicken, or beef. The koftas are usually deep-fried or pan-fried until golden brown before being simmered in a spicy gravy made with tomatoes, onions, and a blend of aromatic spices.

Kofta is often served with naan, roti, or rice, making it a hearty and satisfying meal. Its rich flavours and comforting texture have made kofta a beloved dish in Indian households and restaurants alike, showcasing the vibrant culinary traditions of the region and the diversity of its ingredients.
