Lassi

Lassi is a traditional Indian drink made from yoghurt, renowned for its cooling properties and delightful taste. This creamy beverage is enjoyed across India, especially during the hot summer months, providing a refreshing respite from the heat. There are two main varieties: sweet lassi, which is blended with sugar and flavoured with ingredients like cardamom or fruit, and salty lassi, seasoned with spices and herbs for a savoury twist.

In addition to its delicious flavours, lassi is rich in probiotics, making it beneficial for digestion and overall gut health. It can be served plain or embellished with toppings like crushed nuts or fresh mint leaves, elevating its appeal.

Lassi is often paired with spicy meals, helping to balance flavours and enhance the dining experience. Its versatility and nourishing qualities have made lassi a cherished beverage in Indian cuisine, embodying the culture’s love for refreshing and wholesome foods.
