Methi

Methi, known as fenugreek in English, is a fragrant herb widely used in Indian cuisine for its distinctive flavour and numerous health benefits. Both the leaves and seeds of methi are utilised in cooking, with the leaves often featured in dishes like methi thepla, a popular Gujarati flatbread, and aloo methi, a flavorful potato stir-fry. The seeds are commonly used as a spice in pickles and curries, adding a nutty, slightly bitter taste.

Rich in vitamins A, C, and K, methi is also celebrated for its medicinal properties, believed to aid digestion, lower blood sugar levels, and promote heart health. Its unique aroma and flavour enhance a variety of dishes, making it a staple in many Indian households.
